PROLOGUE

There was a miracle in the last minute before registration closed.

The story begins with how I finally decided to enroll in the sea teacher program at the last minute before registration closed.

The first time I knew of a sea teacher program was when I was still studying at Electra from a group of my friends at Electra. So he said he wanted a one-month permit, then I asked him why permission. Then he explained about the sea teacher program. And finally in my heart I intend if there is open registration again I have to register.

And finally the registration for sea teacher batch 8 was opened, and even then I learned from the diamond Electra group, but at that time I was no longer studying at Electra but we still had a group so that communication was maintained within the group. I read about the sea teacher program that was sent to the group, and I was really interested in joining the program. At that time the registration was last closed for another month, and before registering I had to tell the parents first because this was a one-month trip and it was abroad.

Obviously after I told my parents they forbid me, even more so my father because my father was a thinker. So he was afraid that if I escaped later and that was abroad. And luckily my mom didn't really bother because I said just register first ma, just try it first. Because my intention was strong, however I just had to register because if I didn't try to register I would definitely regret it, the opportunity would not come twice. After that I prepare the materials needed, and also the files that need to be filled. Previously I had asked many questions about the participation that went to the previous batch. About how it will be there and other things.

3 days before the registration was closed I asked my parents again, and they said no need to join. At that time I was sad because my parents also did not support me, I thought that this would have to cost too much. How do I get that much money if my parents don't help and allow it? And I also had time to think because my parents did not allow because the cost was only borne by a little. So I could think like this "okay because for the future I am not the future of my parents. And this is where I have to make sacrifices, if it later escapes and my parents do not want to finance." But on the other hand, according to the logic, I think like this "How can I get away with my parents, I don't enjoy them, especially with my basic English skills?" So I think again to register or not.

And on that day I did not register because I was a little afraid and this is abroad. And you will teach physics in English. Just imagine it, I am a little confused. But actually my heart is still sturdy want to follow along. But the logic of thinking is different.

Days continue to pass, arrived on the last day of registration. And actually at that time I forgot that it was the last day. Maybe because my intention was strong and finally a miracle happened.

That morning my boarding friend came knocking on the door to be delivered to the tutoring place because I had a motorcycle. With a face that is still just waking up, finally I can't help but deliver him to the place of tutoring, without washing my face first. On the way he told me about sea teacher registration and he said he had registered. And he is a very enthusiastic person about this sea teacher program. On the way home immediately new enthusiasm arose for me, I thought this was the last day and I had to try the list and there was nothing left to wait for.

Arriving at the boarding house I rushed to prepare the files that must be met and filled out the registration form. Even though on that day it was time for me and other friends to make it so that at night we would like to have an event. I did not participate in making the order because I was busy preparing the registration file that had to be sent. At 12 noon registration will be closed. And I just sent the file 1 hour before registration closed. Finally I signed up even though it was last minute. I am very grateful as I came a miracle during the last registration.

August 24, 2019

On the night of August 23, 2019 I could not sleep well, because the next morning I had to go to the airport. There is a little anxiety that I feel, because this is the first time I'm going to travel abroad. Early morning I turn on the alarm so that it's not too late. Then my family and I departed from my village Padang Ganting to Padang to go to the BIM airport.

At 11:35 I will do boarding time. Every time I get on a plane, I feel nervous but I always read prayers in my heart.

At 13.50 I arrived at the KLIA 2 airport. Because we were two weeks late from the other group, so I was alone with my friend who was also from UNP. At the KLIA airport we are a little confused, because the airport is too big. And finally after asking a few people then we knew where they should be. At the KLIA airport before entering the plane we met with Chinese people, then we told many things. I am happy to meet new people. August 25 2019

For the next flight to the Nakhon Si Thammarat on August 25, 2019. All night I slept at Bangkok airport before finally leaving for the morning to the Nakhon, I only slept in a row of chairs and because of the occasional cold I went out of the airport to warm myself while watching the atmosphere outside Bangkok airport.

In the morning I will go to the Nakhon Si Thammarat . Arriving at the Nakhon Si Thammarat airport we were picked up by the coordinator from NSTRU and 2 other friends who came from Jogja. Then I was invited to go to eat and for the first time I tried Thai tea drinks directly from Thailand. I am happy that I have finally set foot in Thailand. That was never imagined before.

In the afternoon I was taken by the university coordinator to the immigration office. We recorded staying for 1 month and ended on 22 September 2019.

This is my first day of school. Right at 08.00 all students had lined up in the field as well as the teachers to hold the ceremony. After the ceremony, I and other friends went to the teacher's office. Then I met my mentor who would guide me for the next month. My mentor teaches how to make lesson plans and more.

Then I made an observation seeing my mentor teach math in EP1. And the next day I was immediately told to teach because tomorrow there really is a science schedule at EP5. So after I made observations, I was asked to prepare lesson plans, learning media, worksheets and so on in the teacher's room. I was immediately shocked and a little afraid. Because I have also never observed my mentor when teaching science. But I have to be able to do it and I make it a challenge to be better in the future.

MORNING GREETING

I left for school early because this was my second day at school and it was the first day for me to teach science using English. I will teach science at EP5 at 8:40 a.m. to 10:40. Inside there is my mentor who gives an assessment of my appearance. After class, the mentor made a comment on my performance. For tomorrow it must be further enhanced. Regarding more interactive learning media, I will try my best for the next performance.

The third day I went to school and now at 08.40-10.40 I will teach science in EP 6 with the subject of static electricity. Every time I enter the classroom, I always feel nervous because I am afraid of what will happen if it is not optimal. But I still do my best. After class, as usual the mentor always gives advice and input related to my performance.

The next hour I joined my friend from Yogya because the teacher who taught there could not attend. So it was replaced by Teacher Nadya so I joined with Nadya. In class EP 3 teaches math about hours. The class felt really excited and the students were very hyperactive, especially the boys, even though there were only 8 people in the class. The name is also a child, but here the teacher's expertise is tested, and requires more effort how can students with their individual learning ways but still can follow the lessons well. And this is a challenge for me too.

Tomorrow is Friday and I don't have class, I am very happy because to prepare for when we have class I need extra energy, it really drains my energy but I try to enjoy every process. Because I think not everyone can get an opportunity like this. This is a golden opportunity for me.

Flag Ceremony on the 1st floor

As usual I am ready to go to school. And at half past 8 I went to school.

Rainy day. So the ceremony was held on the first floor. This Friday everyone wears sports clothes. Today I have no class. So I just sit in the office and prepare to teach on Monday for ep 1. After completing some work in the teacher's office, I finally joined the class in Sarah's teacher. He was teaching science. From 13.30 -16.00 I was in Sarah's teacher class.

After school, I, ala, nadia, and ana want to go to the central plaza. At the same time we want to go to a money changer to exchange money, because my baht money is no longer available. Because I only have a little baht, and the rest is in dollars. We were picked up by Miss Nadear to the dormitory and delivered to the central plaza in her private car. Because he also has business and since the road is in the same direction, we can be together. After the fun of shopping, it doesn't feel like it's 9 pm and it's time to go home. One Day Trip

This is the happiest day. Because me and other sea teacher friends, buddies, and the teachers will do a one day trip.

From the dormitory my friend and I walked into the president's office to gather with the others. At 7.30 we were in the van, here were two vans one for the student teacher and buddies, and another van for the other teachers.

2 SEPTEMBER 2019

For enough hours, so I have additional classes at EP 1. I teach at 11:00 to 12:00. Here I only teach for 1 hour lesson. And now for the first time I teach at EP 1 with material parts of the body. Actually I am not too confident when I imagine having to teach very young children especially in Ep 1. I am a little confused as to what learning media I will do in Ep 1.

But on the other hand, I am happy when I see their innocence and sometimes they are very cute. But sometimes they are a bit noisy. Fortunately, my mentor always helps to silence students when they start making a fuss.

3 SEPTEMBER 2019

Today I join the Nadya class there is also a felix teacher.

Nadya said this was the most excited class, okay I will try to see how the actual condition of the class. The class is mini 2/3 and it turns out it is very excited. In this mini class the English language skills are a bit lower compared to the EP program.

Sometimes I feel grateful too, getting a class in Ep doesn't has a mini section. And fortunately, I also got a part of the upper-level class which certainly wasn't too noisy because they also understood and focused on learning.

4 SEPTEMBER 2019

Today I have a class at 08.40-10.40 in Ep 5 for 2 hours of lessons by repeating the previous material which is about changes in physics and chemical changes.

Today I have a class at EP 6 at 8:40 a.m. to 10:40 with static electricity. And I also have class in EP 1 at 14.00 p.m. to 14.50.

Then the next hour I joined the Teacher dale class, English club. There are also nadya, mavy, and also teacher felix. We play various games in English. The children looked very happy and so were we, the teachers were very excited.

Today I have no class.

After school at 16.00, all sea teacher participation, me, ala, nadya, ana, mavy, jessica and some teachers will go to the central plaza to play and also shop. Me and other sea teacher members went on Songteuw, in Indonesia it is usually called Angkot. Cool car, sitting sideways. But the car has no glass, so you can immediately enjoy the surrounding scenery. Arriving at the central plaza, we searched for food because we were hungry. And finally met with other teachers there. Then we watched a movie together. I was very happy and then we returned to each other's house by grab.

7 SEPTEMBER 2019

In the afternoon I and my friend were invited to go play by Miss Nadear, there was also Miss Amber from Korea, and another miss from China. I am happy to be acquainted with them, they are very good. Then we learn each other's languages, because there are 4 languages ​​namely Indonesian, Thai, Korean and Chinese. We visited various tours, I was taken to the Islamic center, the mosque in Thailand. Wahhh so glad I was able to meet a mosque in a foreign country. Then we also went to the Buddhist temple. Go to the night market. And finally to the central plaza to look for souvenirs. 9-10 SEPTEMBER 2019

I have no classes on Monday and Tuesday. Because of the extra hours of study on Ep 1 I was sufficient so I only taught again in Ep 5 and Ep 6 classes on Wednesday and Thursday for 4 hours this week. So I prepare and think of learning methods that are interesting for students, preparation of lesson plans, and worksheets that will be given to students in the teacher's lounge. Because at the end of each lesson I always give an evaluation to students as a form of the extent of student understanding of the material.

11 SEPTEMBER 2019

Today I will teach in Ep 5 class by entering a new chapter. For 2 hours of study, and students have 19 members. Because this is a new chapter, so I'm a little nervous. I am a little doubtful about the media I will use, because the material is about force. So I used the facilities in the class, like they were told to pull and push a table. And for friction material, I demonstrated when they were holding a pencil, and also the friction between their shoe sole and the floor. And various other examples.

SEPTEMBER 12, 2019

Today I have a class at 7 in Ep 6 entering new material which is the electrical circuit. I am happy to be able to teach this material, because in my opinion it will be easier for me to teach using English because in one series can cause many questions. So I on the board described a series of series or parallel series, from the series that I described I gave questions and then they would respond. Here I use a learning media in the form of a video about electrical circuits with various variations of lights, battery variations when the switch is turned off or on. And also related to series and parallel circuits. I am very happy when teaching this material to students.

After the lesson, the mentor gave me advice and input on how to manage the class. And told me that I will hold a demonstration next week in Ep 6 with the material of this electrical circuit. And the civil administration suggested that the learning media and good classroom management be prepared again.

During lunch break I and the other teacher invited me to have lunch outside. Because I don't have class anymore, so I want to join. We went on a motorcycle, because it wasn't enough that I ended up with a pillion of three ... Hehee but that's okay. The important thing is I still participate. We enjoyed lunch at a halal restaurant and I bought meat soup and it was delicious.

SEPTEMBER 13, 2019

As usual I go to school, because it's been 3 weeks, so I feel a little tired because during those 3 weeks drains a lot of energy both from the physical and also the brain. Luckily today I have no class. Because my dormitory is on the 5th floor, and I have to walk there is no elevator. Then walked again to school, and arrived at school I had to go up again to the 3rd floor to enter the teacher's room. Later at lunch time I have to go down the stairs again and go to canteen univ which is also quite far if I have to walk. That's what I do every day, so I feel my body aches and also I have to think about how I should teach, and what I should teach. So I have to study extra before appearing in front of the class.

After the ceremony ended I went back to the teacher's room. Then I went to my mentor to tell me about how I felt, so far I had never observed when my mentor taught science. And I ask the mentor that I also want to see when he teaches science. And it turns out that my mentor doesn't allow me, he says now is not the time for observation anymore. And now is the time for you to teach. Hearing this statement I was a little disappointed, even though I only wanted to gain additional knowledge if I saw my mentor teach science. But never mind, I accept the decision. This might be better. At least I practice a lot and know where my mistakes are. So that I can continue to improve for the better.

14-15 SEPTEMBER 2019

I am very happy when this weekend. Because it's time for me to relax and enjoy every second when I'm in Thailand. I was very grateful to be able to enjoy a month and live abroad, precisely in Thailand. Because this is the weekend so it's time to do all the cleaning, starting from washing clothes and other things that need to be taken care of.

This weekend I will not go anywhere. I'm only in dormitory. I only spend time by calling the people I miss in Indonesia. More precisely family and friends. Because I miss them too.

SEPTEMBER 16, 2019

Today I have no class, so I joined Jo's teacher class in Ep6 with specific material more into biology (science). So they were divided into groups, each group was given their respective assignments and made their work on newspaper they had made before. So today they are given 15 minutes to understand the material that has been made, and after that each group will present it to the class. Then other groups give questions to the presenter groups. While teacher Jo gives an assessment by sitting in the back of the class. I really enjoyed Teacher Jo's class. Because teacher Jo really enjoys when he teaches in class. Because he once said, "That here we are not only required to teach only about the subject matter, but at the same time we also teach about life."

SEPTEMBER 17, 2019

As usual, we carry out the ceremony at 8 o'clock. After the ceremony, everyone returned to their classes and I went to the teacher's office.

Because today I and I have made an agreement with Miss Nadear, our coordinator here, to meet with the president of the university. So I already brought an almamater and also a placard to be given to the university. I am very happy because I will meet with the president of the university.

Indeed, we were rather late meeting with the president of the university because previously it was also told that we were leaving two weeks late. And coincidentally before that the president was no longer at the university, so we had to wait until he came. And finally now is the right time to meet the president.

I, ala and miss nadear, have been waiting in the president's room. After a while of waiting it turned out that there was a call from the president that he was invited to meet at the coffee shop. Wow, I'm happy. When else would the president be invited to the coffee shop. Very friendly president. Until there we were given Thai food, it was pretty good, and I also ordered drinks. It turned out to be true that the president was very humble and kind. After that we took some photos, and the university also gave us a placard. And I also got a souvenir from the university.

After completing the photos, we were even delivered to school using the president's private car, it was a great pride to be able to ride the presidential car, even though Miss Nadear had worked in the president's car for a number of years here and never rode in the president's car and this was the first time he rode in the president's car. . Then we were also invited to take pictures together at a large Buddha statue near the university.

I am very happy to meet with the president, I hope that in another time and opportunity we can meet again, sir and have a cup of coffee together again, sir. Even though I don't order coffee, sir. Heheee

SEPTEMBER 18, 2019

Today I have a class at 08.40-10.40 in Ep 5 by reviewing material about force and friction. This is the fourth week and the last day I teach at Ep5 after passing the previous 3 weeks. As usual I have prepared lesson plans, instructional media, and worksheets that will be provided during the teaching and learning process.

Because this is the last day so I bring some gifts in the form of a small notebook that I will give to the student at the end of the lesson if the student is active and participates during the teaching and learning process. At the end of the study they scrambled to choose the form of notebook they liked and I was very happy to see it. Before the milk break time, we took a photo with a date.

After my class ended at 10:40 I went to the university canteen for breakfast and lunch (brunch). Hehee After that I went back to school to the teacher's room to prepare for the class tomorrow because tomorrow was my demonstration day. And I have to prepare as much as possible.

After the Zuhur prayer break, I was permitted to go to the Korean Centre.

A DAY TO BE A KOREAN WOMAN

Today I am very happy because with Miss Amber and other friends, I will make Gimbap, a special food from Korea.

I also tried some special clothes from Korea.

Because some of our mentors know that I will be back on Friday the 20th sept to Indonesia, so tonight we plan to do a farewell dinner which is a dale teacher, Sarah teacher, steffy teacher, meisy teacher, and also ala ... Even though the next day was my demonstration day, and that night I had to do farewell dinner, there was a feeling of sadness that I felt even though it felt like yesterday that I had entered school and now I had just done farewell dinner. And fortunately for the demonstration tomorrow, I have also prepared the previous day, but I still try as much as I can. Hopefully tomorrow is better.

SEPTEMBER 19, 2019

Today I woke up early, and went to school earlier than usual. Because this is the last day I teach at satit demonstration scholl. And this is my demonstration day, where I teach will be assessed by a mentor and also the principal. Previously I had prepared what I needed to bring to school, related to lesson plans, learning media, worksheets and I also prepared several prizes for students who were active and participated in learning so that they were more enthusiastic in my learning this time.

I teach science in Ep 6 with electrical circuit material. During 2 hours of learning at 08.40-10.40. When I gave a few questions at the end of the learning topic, almost all of them raised their hands because I said who would go forward would give me a present. And they were enthusiastic so I became happy to see them. At the end of the lesson I finally gave all the students a small note book because all of them participated and also this was the last day I taught them. As a form of memory for them. I also told them to make their impressions and messages for 4 weeks I taught them.

And thank God, after going through a struggle that was so heavy and the sacrifice of time and energy, finally I was able to pass 4 weeks at school. It can't be described, and I'm very happy in enjoying every process. Although there are still many things that I need to improve in the future so that it continues to be better. Thank you for all the advice and support from my mentor that made me have to work harder for my future going forward.

SEPTEMBER 20, 2019

Back to Indonesia

Remembering returning to my homeland, I feel very happy, because I already miss home, parents, family and friends.

But on the other hand I also feel sad because when I meet with people who inspire it is over, I can no longer meet romantic students, who almost every morning like to hug especially my students in Class EP 1, which is still small and cute . Likewise with Class EP 5 and Class EP 6 even though they are older but they are very attentive to the teacher.

Thank you to the Satit demonstration school which has provided so many inspiration and provided many valuable lessons to me that I could not get at formal schools or anywhere. Thank you to NSTRU, who helped me a lot during the 1 month I was there, also invited us to take a walk, get to know Thai culture, appreciate the differences in religion and culture, precisely in the Nakhon Thammarat area.

And also I thank my university that I am very proud of, namely UNP which has facilitated me to be able to realize my dream of being able to study abroad, with the PPL Sea Teacher Program in collaboration with Seameo. Thank you to the IO for helping to smooth out my affairs. And give advice and direction to me well.

Finally, we are very grateful to SEAMEO for holding the Sea teacher and Sea TVET program, which provides opportunities for students in Southeast Asia to have the opportunity to teach abroad and gain valuable experience.

And now one of my dreams has come true.
